    It is clearly stated in the I-485 instructions that parents should sign for children below 14 years of age. Those 14 and above should sign for themselves.

    Do we need to sign the I-485 docs on behalf of minors? My daughter is 9 years old and she has signed her papers all by herself. When I asked my attorney, one time she said I need to sign and finally she sent the docs with her signature only.

    hi, my wife's ead expired in 2008 and did not get it renewed as she is a housewife and is not going to work. we got her ap renewed thouht and travelled out of usa. my question is when we re-enter usa will the port of entry officials ask for a valid ead for my wife for allowing re-entry. or just valid ap is enough for re-entry.

    My I-94 and L1A visa expired on October of 2008. I received my I-797A notice of action and my extended I-94, which is valid until June of 2010. My HR manager said I should be ok as long as I don't leave the USA.

    I need to travel outside of the United States for one week. Will I be able to re-enter the USA if I show the approved Petition I-129 with the new I-94 and the expired visa?

    Or will I need to go to the consulate to get a new visa stamp extended to June 2010 to re-enter the USA?

    I will appreciate your help.

This new process standardizes customer service and streamlines processing of customer inquiries at USCIS Service Centers. The step-by-step instructions are as follows:
    Step 1: National Customer Service Center (NCSC) can be contacted at 1-800-375-5283. The NCSC can assist customers, community-based organizations and liaison groups with case related inquiries. Please get your Receipt No. the NCSC please have available your receipt number, alien registration number, type of application filed and date filed. We recommend you note down:
    -The name and/or id number of the NCSC representative
    - The date and time of the call
    - Any service request referral number, if a service referral on a pending case is taken.
