I would say we all need to know our status well first :) There is no such status as EAD. It is Adjustment of Status (AOS) Pending. I had done multiple refi and all I had to tell them is GC pending. They get copy of EAD just to have a reference that I am legal here at the time of application (since it has an end date). Had no issues so for.
I think the key is the person approving the loan needs to understand immigration to certain extent. Its important that we let the officer know up-front about our immigration status so that there are no assumptions and surprises.

The issue of comprehensive immigration reform has received widespread coverage in the media over the last few months.
The issue of legal immigration, though a part of the CIR was less controversial and therefore sadly received less coverage.

These are also the occupations that represent the most vital human capital of the 21st century for US economic competitiveness. Unfortunately the current immigration policy is doing a great injustice to this group of individuals who have quietly and patiently been waiting their turn. Many have waited 5-10 yrs and are still awaiting their green cards. The current backlogs are ominous.
Many have organized into a grassroots organization called Immigration Voice and are planning a pro legal employment based immigration rally in Washington DC on Sep't 18th. We would appreciate coverage of this first of a kind event which puts the spotlight on a just cause which for far too long has gone ignored by our lawmakers.

If its 2001 or 2003 ... ppl like me who r in EB 3 (with PD March 2007) will not get GC for next 4-5 yrs until and unless they spill Eb 1 cases evenly to Eb2 and Eb3...which is next to impossible :eek:

IMHO, yes, please move to EB2 if you can find a new job within your company or outside. EB3 is in limbo and not sure how long it will take to get resolved.
I am lucky enough to have an EB2 job with current PD. Several of my friends who are eligible for EB2 could not find suitable EB2 jobs and could not file in EB2.

Guys don�t presume you don�t have rights for this and that. late in spring of 2005 I had a meeting with my state�s senator and he took all my details and wrote to Backlog Center in Philadelphia. After 2 months his office called me and send me the correspondence they got from BEC. They had description about my file etc. my labor was cleared in a month after that. Apparently BECs informed his office about the approval too, and to my surprize they called me up again and told me the news. They are public office they are answerable to us, we need to ask�Mirage,
I think what Dard-E-Disco is pointing out is that, we are foreigners (Not citizens of the USA), therefore our rights are not the same as a US citizen.
We could create rallies, voice our concerns on this forum, write letters to congressmen and senators, etc etc etc, and that is fine, but we don't have any right to really ask particularly USCIS about their internal workings. I would assume that even US citizens are able to do what you are saying. There are certain levels of confidentiality specially in government that they will never share with anyone.
I think the same is true in your country.
How do think would your people or governmnet react if a foreigner in your country start to question your immigation policy.

USCIS can process recaptured numbers. If 200k numbers are in one year USCIS will plan for 200k numbers in that year.In 2000 they processed more applications after a immigration reform. One way of preventing wastage is plan to process all the applications in 11 months. If any unused numbers can be processed in that one month.

The Ombudsman's report clearly stated how USCIS wasted all these visa #s due to their ineffieciency, very well knowing that these #s cannot be re-used the following year. 1. Threads concerned with the Action Items and Legislative matters should be separated from the usual GC related questionnaire
If you look at the website you find a bunch of new threads related to 485 filing. Most of them bear answers in previous threads. People dont want to search..but that okay..they can form new threads if they are very desperate for the answers.
But at the same time due to the flood of these messages we are missing important notices and action items like this one.If we separate them somehow it will be helpful.
2. Lets have an organized tracking of 485s. Lets separate them by Visa category , country, PD or RD.
ex: Eb3 country: India
PD 2001: RD:...? LUD: ...?
PD:2004:
EB3 : China...
...
..
Lets have an option of adding friends approx dates who are not immigration voice members. This way we can have rough estimate about what happening. Lets not make threads for each category.
This way may be we have a very good track of the visas than USCIS...heheheh:D
I guess most of the 1v members are s/w engineers...i am not...orelse i would have volunteered to do this...

Just noticed there is an update on LUD on my previous EAD (not the current one). Not sure what that means though. Still waiting for response after sending interfiling letter.

we (those who already filed + those will be filing) can never be united, may be it is our birth right to dispute each other. What a pathetic scene, guyz one thing to remember is unless old cases get cleared there is no way new one gets benefited in the long run.
