    please guys just write as many as you can...as i pm'ed pappu...my piece was touchy feely, because i wanted it that way. He suggested some additions to add contributions of immigrants/details of retrogression but I declined cos i felt the touchy feeliness (so to speak) would be diluted.

    This line is not good:

    (ii) Evidence in the form of letter(s) from current or former employer(s) showing that the alien has at least ten years of full-time experience in the occupation for which he or she is being sought;

    First they were after H1b...Now I-140 then they will come after EAD and even GC....sooner or later....no matter how loud we cry for justice....

    When you have these news articles ready...one of the easiest way to circulate them is using a news wire agency.

    I have used http://www.prweb.com/ before for my company news releases. It is free and if you want a broader reach pay $80. It is very effective.

    It is a good idea to release it when something related to immigration is going on in senate or house. During this time, all major news network pickup articles from these wires based on keywords like "immigration, border issue etc"

    Guys, please continue to leave voice messages, emailing & faxing those idiots at Atlanta PERM center who moved the staff to do other work like processing h2b cases. We need to be persistent if we need any positive outcome. Would those idiots who reassigned staff to do other work, now turn around and help us be reassigining more staff to clear the backlogs? We need to keep questioning them and bombard them with emails, fax and phone calls. It is very important that we act now, if not you all know how delicate of situation we are all finding ourselves in.     3 reasons:

    1. The work - when I came here the work I was interested in wasnt being done back home.
    2. The work culture - working under most desi managers is a pain in the backside and really stifling for me.
    3. Continuity - set up life here, got married, had my son. Its hard to just pull the plug and walk back.

    GC is just the means, not the end.

    My suggestion for everyone reading this is - do not send this information to your Company or HR department. They could ask us to table this additional cost. I work for Accenture so I hope that this does not apply to my employer with less than 50% employees on visa. But I'm not going to write to them asking about this because they may turn around asking us to eat this new cost.

    How about you? Has anyone contacted their employer already? What are they saying?

    Hmmmm - but all these top Attorneys are professional - I mean - why would they tell you just the opposite for getting money through h1b transfers - I don't believe it.

    I did seek paid professional councel from Attorneys and thats how I was convinced that h1b is safer.

    Like say - of a h1b extension/transfer is successful - then the h1b is typically delinked from what is happening to 485 or 140. As per my understanding a pending 140 or a pending labor is the basis for h1b extensions and they are not coupled whereas an EAD is coupled with 485 and the denial hits the EAD straight because of its direct association.

    Folks correct me if I am wrong

    Don't get me wrong. There are so many good lawyers. I have talked to few of them who are reputed and didn't even charge me for my first call.     Gurus,

    I am about to switch jobs using EAD. I am worried that if my current employer revokes my 140, CIS may by mistake cancel my pending AOS. I am mentally prepared for this and talk to lawyer to be ready to file MTR in this case. However here is my question.

    1. Will this immediately cancel my EAD? if so, I may have to resign.
    2. If I continue working while filling for MTR, will it be illegal?
    3. How much it costs to go thru' MTR process? How long it takes?

    I read on some other website that denying 485 doesn't automatically cancel your EAD. Any inputs?

    Once they accept I-485 in the system then they give us a Receipt#, with that Receipt we can file for EAD / AP (as long as your PD becomes available) then they will process your I-485, Just thinking.. what do you say guys ... Please lete me know.. Receipt Date Vs Visa Number ...

    You can file EAD/AP together with 485. That's how I did (actually I140 PP was in the same package too). Sent on 6/21 to I140PP address. Had all the receipts beginning of July.
