I see there are many amendments for the Immigration bill that was currently on the Senate floor Senate floor and as of today it�s been stalled, and probably will be brought back to be debated on. My question to IV core and members are that there are what version of the bill do like or will support.
Because the bill stated that if the point system comes into existence then it will only begin from the next fiscal year 2008 and in the bill it also stated that all I140 files after May 15, 2007 will be NULL and VOID. DO IV and core support this version of the bill, because I don�t and many people out here too don�t support and what role is IV core playing on this matter?
I know the point based GC system will be happily accepted by newcomers who just got into the queue of this GC process but what about those who waited for years to reach this stage to file I140 and then finally coming to know that their I140 is not valid because of the so called new BILL.
I am totally against any new Immigration bill that does not benefit the who are in the queue for years. I wish others too in this forum agree with me.

Earlier I used google checkout for contribution but now I could not see that option. Not sure whether I am missing something, could anybody direct me to the relevant page where I can make the contribution through google checkout?

Do we have any action plan yet? What can we do to include amendments for us? Is this too late now and all we need to do is to oppose CIR?

Here I want to make clear, FIFO for taking labor applications and sending ad instructions not for approving. I know depending on compilcation of cases(I think), some cases with PD 2005 get approved fast and cases with PD 2003 are taking longer. I dont know why all these mess in DOL, for taking the labor applications and sending ad instructions.

Guys, You can talk to your senators to help you in this situation. You need to sign a privacy release form and provide a letter explaining what happended. I heard from my freind that it worked before. So you can write to your senator about the situation and ask for help. I really don't know if it is goign to make a difference but i thought it is worth a try since we filed the application legally.

For me it's simple, majority of Republicans are anti-immigrant while majority of Democrats are pro-immigrants. The vote can speak for itself.

This question is not to undermine the effort, which was tremendous but just from a realistic point of view...
I'm just curious to know how long it will take (or rather how long we are prepared to wait) for the impact of this rally to be felt and what are the changes that can be expected from USCIS as a result ?
Say, after waiting for a few months, status quo continues, what further actions are planned to persist with IV's cause (i.e. more rallies or by other means) ?
If the same question has been already raised, please ignore.

I am not negating anyone's personal decision here but after leaving for 10 yrs in US and still not having a GC makes me wonder why I should go to canada rather I would go to india and live there where we spent our 25 yrs or so and be part of the community etc.

We should try something like applying for 485 without priority date but even the cantwell cornyn amendment does not have this provision

sorry, i missed the obvious. In the links i posted earlier and also on I-131 instr page, it clearly states that Bio-Metric is a must for 1) Re-Entry doc and 2) Refugee doc, but not Advance Parole. duh! :-)
But i think when u e-file they ask for FP even though its Advance Parole.
im paper-filing now wiht no FP fee.

Now a days any junior, if they ask me about GC process, I ask them what is the law firm of the company and find out how company handles GCs. Like, do they file at the last moment? do they get into a holding pattern and delay everything etc? One of the questions I directly ask people who seek my advice is , is the company's law firm fragomen? If they say yes, I ask them to talk to their manager and stay away from fragomen and change their jobs if its a slow process.
